New to me, 1897 El Salvador U.P.U. Postal Stationary item.

CORREOS DE EL SALVADOR

I was drawn to this item due to its small size - 2" x 4.2"

El Salvador and Nicaragua were the two Seebeck countries to issue stamps and postal stationery for the entire 10 years of their contracts.

Nice card. Someone will know whether the UPU had a minimum size for these. I believe the maximum size was 9cm x 14cm (3.54" x 5.51").

Current standard from Convention – Prot. Art. R XV; Art. 17-104, 17-105 140 – Volume II:

Quote:
Article 17-105
Limits of size and weight for small letters (P) and large letters (G)
1 For the classification of items based on their format, the limits of size and
weight of small letters (P) shall be as follows:
1.1 minimum dimensions: 90 x 140 mm;
1.2 maximum dimensions: 165 x 245 mm;
1.3 maximum weight: 100 g;
1.4 maximum thickness: 5 mm.

2 For the classification of items based on their format, for items that are not
small letter (P) format items, the limits of size and weight of large letters (G)
shall be as follows:
2.1 minimum dimensions: 90 x 140 mm;
2.2 maximum dimensions: 305 x 381 mm;
2.3 maximum weight: 500 g;
2.4 maximum thickness: 20 mm.

Did they have modern postal card standards right next door to these? I see these letter standards have a minimum size equal to what I believed was the maximum size for postal cards at the time of the adoption of the earliest conventions.

(I might be misremembering...)
