Today I want to start a topic called stupid stamps. I will start with 2 stamps from Baden and one from German Weimar Republic.

Baden 14 (Michel catalog number). Someone decided to assemble this "stamp" from two different pieces.

Baden 21. 90% of this stamp is genuine (at least I think it is). the lower right portion has been added on. The text on the right side should read POSTVEREIN but actually reads POSTMARKE which would never be found on a genuine version. What were they trying to prove?? I also show a closeup of this part of the stamp.

Germany 308A. And last I show a genuine stamp with a hand-drawn postmark. This stamp with a genuine postmark catalogs 2 euros. Why did they bother?

I look forward to seeing some of your stupid stamps!

I remember creating a few cancellations when armed with a date-stamp, circular bottle-top and ink-pad. I wonder where they are now?

That is, of course, the very best American stamp.

Some time ago, I ran across this mangy looking stamp in an elderly album that I was dismantling from a lot in an auction purchase.

After taking it out, it morphed into this.

The lengths someone will go to to fill a spot on an album page!

I have this stamp which is similar to both Scott 138 and 138a. This looks stupid though since both stamps talks of either dull or dark green. Now I am in doubt of the stamps authenticity. What do you think?

Very much authentic and someone has tried to remove something, maybe the blue crayon mark. The green is double fugitive ink and the red is fugitive. The inks, especially the green ink, have been washed away. Probably, a chemical agent was used.

By the way, this stamp comes in a wide range of 'shades' on ordinary and chalk-surfaced paper printed either by De La Rue, or at Somerset House by the IRS stamp printing branch.

In monetary terms, this is a badly damaged and hence worthless stamp.

Common with that stamp, I have 5 or 6 similar condition.
Mostly used on Parcels

Your Blue wax crayon indicates this stamp was on a Registered article.
