I came across this in one of my Dad's albums, a brown C1 6 cent Curtiss Jenny next to the correct one in orange.

Does anyone have an idea what this might be?

Agree with Don,
I was hesitant to answer, I have seen copies in an intermediate state,
(Brown Orange) but yours is extraordinarily Brown.

I waited to see explanations.
