I noticed that in my block of four, the K in Czechoslovakia looks like the letter X. Any opinion on that? Appreciate any help. I have include pictures of each for comparison.

Thank you for your quick reply. That exhibit is very interesting. Since I am not experienced in these matters I wonder if you could help again. I don't see my particular question addressed on these slides. Is the appearance of the letter X instead of K a common occurrence. Perhaps I just can't see it on the slides. Any more help is very much appreciated.

I do not think the slide shows your exact inking issue. Inking issues at this level are often called 'fly speccing' and are typically a specialized area of interest. As such, you do not find them in catalogs. Whether or not yours is a 'one-time' inking issue or an inking issue that occurred over a significant number of sheets will require someone who has viewed thousands of these stamps. Hal, the author of that presentation is a member here and usually checks in once a weel or so. Perhaps he will respond when he logs in.
