My father-in-law died and left my wife his collection of Japanese stamps. He was an American working as a civilian for the US Army in Japan from shortly after the end of WWII until the mid-70's. Many of the stamps are in sheet form, though he has older stamps in stamp collection books (not complete). We're going to visit Japan in the fall, and wondered whether to bring those stamps with us. Any advice would be appreciated.
Post some photos so that people can determine whether you have common items or perhaps something that would be worthwhile to take with you for a sale. However, most likely it would be better to try and sell them locally rather than dragging them half way around the world.
