There's another thread asking a similar question, but the title is wrong, so starting a new thread with a better picture than the previous thread had.

One of my George Washington "TWO CENTS" of the A139 variety (either 332 or 375) seems to have laid paper. It's really difficult to get a good picture since have to hold at an angle. Unfortunately the stamp has a huge tear. Just wanting to know if this paper is something unique. There are a couple of hits for Scott 332 laid paper via web search, but it's not listed in the U.S. specialized, and I don't trust all search results.

Note: Zooming in on the picture does not make it easier to see.

1) It would help to see the front of the stamp
2) You mean Type A139?
3) Am not aware of laid paper for these stamps. Do you have a reference?
4) It is a booklet stamp which would make it a 332 IF you have you have identified the stamp correctly. (Back to not being able to see the front)

Yes, A139, I had the A138s out when I was writing the post.

Here's the front. I can get a better scan if needed, but I don't think it matters here.

Both mention a laid paper variety (2nd link actually refers back to what is described in the 1st link)

FYI, previous discussion about laid paper on W/Fs. Key "laid paper" into the search function and find other discussions about laid paper.

Thanks for the link Al. It was very helpful. I did do a search for "laid paper", but I must have included another keyword that narrowed it down too much to the specific stamp. Based on what I read at the link (and another link it pointed to), the stamp I have is more of a ribbed paper than laid paper. I'll just keep this stamp aside as an oddity since it is just different enough from the rest of what I have.
