Axc, what sort of stamps are you talking about? Regular comemmoratives or coil size stamps?

@GeoffHa Thanks, I was using Vario pages and wasn't aware they had separate names. Guess the strips would have to go into different pages and albums.
@Petert4522 These are coil sized. I'm trying to organize everything using one type of stock sheets but the regular pages don't fit. These came from father's collection and he had the last two folded over on itself in regular stock pages. I would like to store them without folding the last two. |

Axc77, I know your problem. I collect just the US Transportation Coils, and they do not have long strips basically. But when one starts collecting "gap strips" they can get long. Also, lately the post office has gotten greedy by issuing ten different stamps ( eleven if one counts the plate numbered stamp as a different stamp ). This makes storage difficult, but there are options. You can use a Vario page made for stationery and position the long strip diagonally. I keep my long strips ( up to 18 coils ) in a "SAFE" album. Any longer I keep rolled up in medicine bottles. Hope this helps a bit,

You might want to consider White Ace Mint Plate File. Like storing a sheet of stamps but for long plate blocks. I know they are available on ebay.

Try Centurion Stock Pages, type "5VS". They are 273mm long vertically x 39mm wide. Bottom row, 4th from the left |

Those look perfect. Heard of G&K but never used their pages, never heard about Anchor though. Might get one of each to see which I like more, thanks. |

Quote: Those look perfect. Heard of G&K but never used their pages You must allow for friction when inserting or removing the strips. You would be wise to fist place the strips in the correct size mounting strips and then slide them in. Yes, more money but no turning strips of ten into two strip, one three and one seven or a strip of ten with position number 6 crumpled. G&K is a good budget supplier (well comparably) which has been around for quite some time. |

Never thought about using mounts in stock pages. Always thought it was good enough already. Is it a good idea to mount every stamp? There are some valuable stamps in the collection. |

The mounts aren't needed necessarily to protect the stamps once inserted into the stock pages, but more to help insert and remove the strip without creasing or tearing the perforations, depending on how fragile the strip is. In fact one of the sample pictures from one of the sellers on eBay shows an example of a strip (on the right) that looks like it is in a form of clear plastic mount. You could also cut a piece of card stock a little bigger than the strip, and rest the strip on the card stock to more easily/safely slide the strip in. Then either leave the cardstock in there, or remove it until you want to remove the strip. It looks like these pockets have openings only one side, rather than a Hagner-type page where the pocket opens on 3 sides and is easier to move things in/out. But I haven't seen the vertical orientation on those. The most I can get on a Hagner 1-pocket is 240 mm and the G&K shows it can fit 273 mm. Try it out and let us know your results. |

Buenos Dias, I store my strips in my previous mentioned White Ace Mint Plate File. Believe it or not, it is not just for storing plate blocks but also great for strips or other long combinations of stamps. |
