Good Evening,

Here is a U.S. 1893 Scott Catalogue #237 re-entry stamp. This one covers the entirety of the stamp... so keep on looking for errors. May just be a double double?

Please keep comments about the stamp and topic only.

Thank you

Please show a second example or previously published report to prove a constant variety and not inking issue. As you are dealing with US stamp(s) try to learn and US nomenclature and terms of art.

Abraham Maslow wrote in 1966, "If the only tool you have is a hammer, it is tempting to treat everything as if it were a nail." It appears you, souldjer777, have replaced the hammer with "re-entry."

Please refer to your thread here: http://goscf.com/t/84126#776950 and review the constructive educational comments provided to you there on the subject.

If you plan to keep listing these as you find them, why not just start on thread with the title of "souldjer777's Re-entries. Then just keep adding them to that thread as you find them. All will be in one place and with proper terms to identify the stamps, stamps will be searchable in the SCF.

If you like that idea as you seem to want to keep posting these finds, as the moderator to combine you existing threads into one and go on from there and enjoy your entertainment..

I don't know if I would call it an all-over re-entry (or double transfer), but the left side certainly does show doubling in several areas, and some features across the top. A nice example.

I am not sure whether this is a DT or not; it is not one of the DT's I have seen.

Based on those closeups, I have to continue to say that it is a re-entry on the left side only. All of the other pictures just show random dots here and there. Again, a nice find, but not a DT all over.

Okay, maybe the pics don't do it justice. Its left, middle top and bottom. Top right is faint in the numeral 10. The marks and signs are all over. Been doing this a long time now, I know the traces and signs, gotten a lot better at id'ing

I agree with the direction partime is going. The extra vertical lines at the left side have the strongest resemblance to a double transfer. Specifically, several of them have the same leftward shift in the same amount. The rest of the extraneous ink have no consistent shifting pattern, shape, or distance to adjacent inked areas. These are more likely a result of the next sheet being stacked and shifted around a bit to perfect the stacking. This stamp and its damp-ink sheetmates setting-off some ink onto the back of the next sheet and then back again through a few movements. In short, not all extra ink is evidence of plate flaw. Just my theory.
