Hello
SG dont give information about proof
It could be a proof of SG12 or of SG8 before the surcharge cancelled.
What's your advice?

This is a forgery, clearly. The original artist knew what arms and hands look like; that's NOT what's going on here. Compare with any genuine Perkins, Bacon printed Cape Triangle shown online. If a genuine pre-printing proof, the background wouldn't have filled spots throughout.

I also see a haze of dots outside of the triangle. This is a typical sign of a computer printer being used.

The British Library has a nice specimen you can zoom in on, to see the vastly superior detail and imagery of a genuine copy: https://www.bl.uk/collection-items/...yellow-green

I have two questions.

To antoin, this appears to be die sunk, the center part below the outer margins. Further, it should be on thin paper stuck on card. Is it, or are we seeing just a pattern on flat paper?

To all, if this is a suspected very modern forgery, then I'm thinking it was likely copied from something else. Can anyone find or does anyone have the original forgery this was copied from?

Thank you all for your answers. The proof paper is 0.04 mm thick. This fake was in a lot received from an uncle more than 30 years ago. It was not pasted on a cardboard paper.
It is a very bad forgery as you mentioned, arms, nose, .. I did not find the model in https://stampforgeries.com/forged-s...triangle-1s/ I can't find the model .
Why make a fake as a proof? SG does not mention proofs

I didn't think Fournier did it that bad... :) Likely it's the proof for the forgery.
