Finland Variety On The 40 Pen

The FACIT special 2013 catalog gives a single variety (erected as type) for stamp N°9. The one in the picture would be type I (closed crown ring below to the right, unclear details).
But there are other varieties, for example in the picture the broken left parenthesis.
Do you know if there is information about the varieties of Finnish classic stamps, either on the internet or in books.

"There are other varieties " Yes there are, this is called in English ----- FLY SPECKING .

Anybody looking at older stamps ,even some modern stamps can find errors ,faults and minor difference if they have a stronger enough glass to see all the minor details .

I have seen many collections over the years with nicely made album pages showing a lot of minor details with drawings or little color arrows point out these faults but it comes down to very little financial reward for the seller .

I haven't seen any detailed references on these issues, but it may be that they are all in Finnish... There are certainly varieties, but then there are also likely print quality issues with them as well. Your roulette is type II. My example of that type (https://billsey.seymourfamily.com/F...page002.htm) also has the artifact on the right side of the crown, but not the one at lower left.

OP, check with Jay Smith and Associates in Snow Camp, NC on line. Jays told me there are some specialty publications for early Finnish stamps but they tend to target one or another particular issue.

But the reality is more hazy.

Type I : Closed crown ring below to the right, unclears detail (the image show that it isnot completely closed)
Type II : Open crown ring, clear details

Second and it is hard to tell but you look like you posted " (URL) " when the correct method is " ( URL ) " with a space between the first "(" and start of the URL and a space between the last of the URL and the last ")" of the text. Other wise just add a space enter URL and follow with a space. URL should display properly.
