I would not say amusing as in funny but very interesting as a reflections of the 50s and even the media of the day. But then there is nothing like LIFE magazine either today.
I have both those copies of Life magazine. As was mentioned, there is nothing like it today, everything has shifted to digital. "Back-in-the-day" periodicals such as Life, Look, the Saturday Evening Post, and others were what people looked at before "the www".
I'm sure these two issues were of interest to a broader audience, not just stamp collectors. Back then (before e-mail, texts, and instant messaging) postal mail was a primary form of communication. Everyone bought stamps (not just collectors) and I'm sure the general public would find these issues interesting (as opposed to amusing).
