I'm finding myself expanding from 2 original country collections, to now 4, to 3 others I am setting aside, and see where I will easily migrate to a worldwide collector. I currently stop at 2000 for my 4 original countries, but imagine I will scale back to 1980 or so for the rest of the world.
I updated my old Harris Liberty album through 2022. Had let it get out of date by about 30 years. I will probably never get even a fair amount of issues from about 1990 to present. But the album is up to date. A while back, I started collecting Germany up to formation of Federal Republic. Also have a pretty good collection of DDR too as it's a dead country with a definite end date. I dabble some in British Empire and colonies up but not including QEII. Have a good size Canada collection up to about 1990 and there's where it ends. Picked up a nice Senior Statesman album. No stop date with this one, just an album to hold all the worldwide that I seemed to have accumulated over the years.
My U.S. collection ends (for the most part) around 1990, which is when I set it aside for 25 years.
I did recently come across some commemoratives from the early 1990s, and I will probably start filling in these years as I spot opportunities to do so. (Most of my energy is spent on collecting the early 20th century, however.)
I have noticed that many people are selling U.S. commemorative sets from the early 1990s. If anyone knows of a good source of definitive sets for this period (or later years), I would welcome suggestions.
