Is it any wonder that new collectors get confused by the 'experts' here? You guys go off in the weeds on trying to debate each other while the new collector is listing stamps as 'RARE' and asking totally unrealistic prices.

I do not think the below stamps were posted in the SCF such that she could be " confused by the 'experts' here" prior to setting her prices.

Elsewhere on SCF, you, Don bemoaned the disruption to the hobby for new comers when they see the "generous" and unrealistic pricing of stamps on eBay.

Here the OP asked if something was "rare" and I answered by the book, the dictionary book. What the OP really wants to know is not about rarity, but value as in what is it worth, without specifying if selling to an experienced collector or a common P.T. Barnum rube.

Also I will clearly point out the OP is a baldfaced liar, denying that this was the same stamp shown in here prior thread. When I brought over the photo for comparison, she stopped posting in this thread. So if the so-called experts here are out in the weeds, were exactly do the liars stand?

Parcel,
You have NO idea if the OP is a liar or not. For example, how do you know she was not just confused?

In my opinion, you and the other 'experts' own some of this situation. You guys had an opportunity to teach and ultimately help the hobby. But this is clearly not has happened and instead you have now doubled down and call her more names.

As for your comment about me and how I Moderate; "bemoaned"?? Nice choice of words. Now you are pressing my patience (go ask souldjer777 and ask him how he made out with that yesterday).

I strongly recommend you reconsider the assumptions and adjust the tone in posts; being in the top three of people who generate complaints is NOT a good place to be.
Don

I am so sorry Jujustamps, perhaps I incorrectly jumped to a conclusion. So please kindly clarify, when you re-posted the same stamp in this thread and denied posting the stamp twice in different threads, were you confused? I see in what seems to be your (I may be wrong here, I admit), eBay listing that there are two similar looking Haitian stamps. Perhaps you thought you had posted each one just once, correct?

To Don, I never knowingly openly question your or any other moderator's moderation. I thought I was commenting about text from you, Don, not you, the moderator. If I accidentally made a comment about moderation, I withdraw said comment and apologize.

Scott 187 or 188 depending on color.

2021 Scott Classic Catalog prices, used, in US dollars:

Haiti
187 -- $0.65
188 -- $2.50

On eBay it is common to list an opening price of 25-35% or less a bit more for a Buy It Now.
