I have many stamps and looking to get a better understanding of what I have. Where do I get started?
Do I get them graded?
Where is the best place to sell them?

Thank You
All

Please clarify. It is unclear if you want to learn about stamps as a stamp collector or if your endgame is just selling off what you have but have no interest in as you do not collect stamps.

Also as to where to sell, that can't be fully answered until you explain what you have. Are these shown all the stamps you have or do you have others? Did you select these from a larger group at random, or did you select them for a particular reason? Such details will help in giving you direction.

If I can make a guess from your name, Coin Happy, you collect coins, correct? If true, then this follows, coin grading in its hobby is far different than stamp grading in its hobby.

Wow, these are actually nice looking stamps for a change. Don't be in a rush to do anything or send them anywhere. Let us all know how much you actually have. These are above most common stamps. Please send some more pictures and let us get a feel for the total. Hundreds, thousands? All United States? If these were left to you I think you are pretty fortunate.

How did you come into these stamps?

If you have others similar to these that you have not shown, are they in the same "Dealer page" arrangement in small binders?

They do not appear to be organized in any special way, as from a collector.

Whomever the previous owner these were from, are there any notes, receipts or certificates? This information can be very useful to determine how to proceed.

Coin Happy,

Enjoy having fun with stamps! That is the name of this game. Wonderful you are carrying on your father's collection. You are the next steward of a family treasure you can pass on to future generations. Its value as a family heirloom wil always surpass it monetary value.

Collecting for the enjoyment of collecting, whatever that might be, is the name of the game. Don't hesitate to ask questions especially if you need basic information and especially more advanced sources of information for any possible topic. You should be able to find folks on this board a little further along on their collecting journey glad to share experiences.

My personal bias is a used stamp loses the story of its journey in the postal service when it is removed from the cover it transported to its destination. Collecting postal history adds a whole new aspect to your journey in our hobby.

Wishing you many enjoyable future days in our hobby. Russ
