This is actually one of those ""asking for a friend" posts; but ran in to this on a Facebook group and am helping a gent out.

Operating of course on the assumption that these are 179s; and from the back, clearly appears to be two horizontal NH strips of three pasted together.

Just asking for some folks with a better eye/experience for your opinion. I suggested he get a cert, as that might help at auction; but also curious for other's opinions. Photos are the best I can do, took them off FB, so they are what they are.

Much appreciated.

They are very nice. They would fit in most anyone's collection of multiple stamps.

It appears to me to 179s as well.

This would be called a "reconstructed block of 6". They would be never hinged, except for the hinges that were used to connect the two strips together. The top center looks like it might be previously hinged, with the bottom center maybe being the only one still NH. It doesn't qualify as a block which has a decent premium in CV, but still it is a rare survivor of a large unused multiple.

Personally I don't know what a certificate would add in this case except added cost. It clearly is what it is. All the certificate would do would be point out the known issues (extensive perf separations) and possibly uncover some new unknown issues. Like is that a crease in the middle of the top center stamp?

It is a pretty sight. I hope it stays in one piece and doesn't get broken apart to pillage the lone NH copy.
