Hey everyone! Have you ever come across hole-punched pages that are similar to those in a stockbook, ie. with the 10 rows and a glassine or clear pocket? I would love to have something like that to put in some of my binders and the Vario pages (and the like) don't work for what I mean. I want to be able to have stamps held in but not completely covered. I have looked around and just can't seem to find anything online like that and I don't want to rip apart a stockbook! Thanks in advance!!

Wow. Where have you been? Go to any stamp dealer and look for Vario pages. There are several different makes for these; this forum has several posts about these

Hi Peter,
He mentions in his post that he is not looking for Vario type pages. It sounds like he is looking for clear pockets that do not rise up over the stamps in them.

Like these, but with 3 holes, not 4?

OR, the manila stock pages such as this?

Hi Parcelpostguy, yes that is exactly what I mean but with 3 holes so they will fit all binders. I have tons of the manila ones but I want to be able to see the stamps better. Thanks!

Oops, I edited my post such that there are now two choices. You found the top style okay, what about the bottom style?

I see the top style with three holes but they seem to be all used older stock. I have not seen new ones from makers recently. But others can chime in.

You may want to check eBay under stamps (publications and supplies) which is where I got the images.

Then there are these hybrid pages which are in a spring back book. They are not usually hole punched in a spring-back which means you can three hole punch them yourself. The hole would go into the part held in the spring-back but still have the fabric hinging between that and the business part of the stock page.

Some album manufacturers - I think Lighthouse and Schaubek, but there are doubtless others - make stock-pages specifically designed to fit their stamp albums, as opposed to those designed to fit stock-albums.

See, for example, page 71 of this (UK) Lighthouse catalogue

https://www.michaelkay.co.uk/brochu...brochure.pdf

and this from the (German) Schaubek site

NEXT......These may be more of what you are after as they are designed to go into a three ring album.

eBay item number:294296344786

And a screen shot of the current listing:

You can also deconstruct a stock-book with double hinging and punch the required number of holes yourself. I occasionally do this.

Those manilla stock pages just brought back a really fond memory of Molnar's stamp and coins in Sarasota, FL where I grew up. Used to agonize over how to spend the few dollars I had every time I got my folks to take me there while poring through their manilla stock pages; circa 1983 or so.

Apologies for waxing sentimental...just brings back fond memories. Was surprised to see those are still being used though.

Geoff, how do you do that? Simply take a razor knife and slice the pages out? Would much prefer to use three ring binders.

Randy, I have no idea; heck, didn't know there were brick & mortar stores anymore! I'd guess not, but Rich Molnar was a middle-aged gent who owned the place with his wife who's name I cannot remember, but that was 40 years ago, so would doubt those are the same folks. Would be cool if they were from the same family though! Remember buying a NH overrun countries set from them back in the day and mounting them in crystal mounts in my Harris Liberty album; was a prized possession that I showed off to my friends as "old" stamps.

Good folks, they always managed to round down on the price or throw in another space-filler to add another stamp I might need to my album. Was awesome at the time!

Izzbizz, apologies for maybe hijacking your post with childhood memories!

Molnar Stamp and Coin in Arizona is the same one that used to be in Sarasota. I remember when they moved- sometime in the early 1990s. No idea if they are under the same ownership, but it's definitely the same firm, by lineage.

To facilitate moving the discussion back to the OP's topic, another attribute that I don't like about manila pages is that pocket sleeves are very stiff and I've had a few "close calls" where I thought stamps would crease or acquire perf damage due to missing the pocket and hitting the sleeve.

I also agree that you can't see much once stamps are in the slots, so it's a very interesting idea about looking into pages that have glassine as pocket material. At some point, I will have to do some heavy shorting in search of shades/tones, tagging, etc for many accumulations of definitives I have in my collection. Stock pages like these are very useful for storage once you've sorted definitives because you can make pencil notes next to stamps before mounting them permanently in something like a Vario page.

Andy - I wouldn't destroy a perfectly good Lighthouse stock-book, but ones with the binding gone can be repurposed as separate pages (indeed, I've found many auction lots contain these). Just cut through with scissors at the point where the pages meet the spine.
