I have this stamp, but I don`t know what type it is, there are two spots in the "o " in one, perhaps that can help.

It is a 57 L1L, thanks for your help. How rare is this stamp.

It is a Scott #9 (Type IV).

I believe it might be position 57 on the left pane of plate 1 (Late state).

Could also be position 67

Hope that clears that up.

How rare is it? Not very.

Yours is cut in at the top which would detract from the value.

Here is my copy of 57L1L for comparison.

BTW, the two dots in the O are part of a double transfer, there is more showing above the O.

Hello Stallzer.
Thanks for your scan, I can see that it is the same as mine, are we talking about 50 USD. I`m asking because we want to sell it on our Club auction. We found it among other US stamps.

It all depends on what the back of the stamp is like.

If the stamp is sound and has no thins or spackle filling thins then $50 US is not unreasonable.

niels, welcome to this forum! Scott #9 in general is a common enough stamp--several dozen can be found on offer at ebay on any given day. Specialists might pay more for a specific position, but this is perhaps not relevant to a local Danish club auction. The actual transactional value would depend mainly on condition. As stallzer says, the fact that this stamp is cut in at the top would detract from its sale value (generally speaking). Also, if there are any thins, tears, creases etc. this would further subtract value. Of course, at the end of the day the value of a stamp is what someone is willing to pay for it. In this case, however, I'd say $50US might be optimistic. One could probably get as good or better an example on ebay for a bit less.
