In April 1993 I went to Hanoi to begin a Boeing sponsored project to create a new identity and image for Vietnam Airlines, which resulted in the current Lotus/blue & gold theme. The U.S. Trade Embargo was in effect so, Hanoi was still closed up pretty tight. Foreigners were rare and shopping for cool wartime stuff was good. I found a great stamp shop and bought a lot of stamps, money, propaganda posters, NVA medals etc. Being a veteran of that war, I was mostly looking for wartime stuff but, did get some older stamps and money. Here are a few random covers I picked up.
