That's an extraordinary strip of Washington stamps, jleb1979! Thanks for showing it and telling us the story of the re-entry.

I always look for that foreign entry. I never find it, of course. One could look at millions of examples and never find it.

Thanks for sharing it to us! It's a really amazing philatelic item! I have a question: do you really own this strip? Or it's an image from another collector?

But whatever, very interesting strip!!

I assure you, Captain Stamp, what I have posted in your thread I hold in my collection.

RevCollector -- Yeah, the hunt for one in the wild would be long I'm afraid. I bought my strip at auction a few years ago. Powersearch shows several which have generally hammered under $1,000 in recent years.

Scott 482, strip of 6, with Schermack perforations. Actually, it's a strip of 4 and pair. It started out as a strip of 6, but 2 got detached during the soaking process. They have been reattached with hinge reinforcements however.

3193zd - Yeah, I kind of did some searching on places like ebay and only really found strips of 4 or less.

Because it would have to have been used with the plate number (and been the experimental plate at that), and been something which needed at least triple weight postage. And been saved. Really a fair amount of luck needed for all that to occur.
