Hello, I am new to the forum. I inherited some stamps and there are a couple that I have not been able to identify. Can anyone give me any information about this George Washington 1 cent stamp with a colored face. Thank you.

I have one other stamp to ask about. I have a strip of 3 George Washington 1 cent stamps. The middle stamp is blue and there is a notation on the reverse that says "Counterfeit Color" Can anyone give me any information on this one as well. Thank you.

Someone was playing. The top stamp has been colored in, and the bottom strip has had the middle stamp bleached or otherwise altered. In other words, they ruined perfectly good stamps.

Thank you for looking at these for me. No wonder why I couldn't find any information on the colored stamp anywhere.
On the other 3, I wonder how the counterfeit color notation got on the back of the stamp?

Someone who owned it put it there. Used a rubber stamp they likely created themselves to identify a fake color. I'm guessing they used it more than once.
