Hello everyone!

I saw in the rules that I can't do self promotion and advertising. But, if, one day, I finish a plating project and put it on stampsmarter.com and share the link to make people know I finished my project and is own available for use, is that considered as self promotion?

If it is considered as self promotion, I can completely understand.

I posted a whole monograph here without any dramas.

If it benefits the hobby, the author of the work should be acknowledged, and I can't see anything wrong with bringing one's work to the attention of the wider community.

I agree with Bobby De La Rue, if it helps the hobby I see nothing wrong in sharing your knowledge and experience. I would even go as far as to say I encourage those collectors that have work they have done to share with the hobby. How else are we going to extend our knowledge with out a guide to help us that others can share.

There are links and references to the StampSmarter site in countless threads here. If you don't link to a page, someone else gladly will.
We all see farther by standing on the shoulders of those who came before us.

The rule you referenced is targeted to people trying to sell their products and services. If you want to promote a commercial activity on SCF, you should become an SCF sponsor, advertiser, etc.

In your case, where you're sharing your research and information, SCF considers that a valuable contribution our community.
