...... and no comment on the Olympic Games 1984 in LA?

Ahhhh, I have just learnt what happened then. That is why the texts were erased? Interesting that Olympic Games logo was not erased - and what I own was used. So, stamps were sold and used even the event was not relevant for the country?

And I have read the event was led by the previous olympic games. This one below is issued by one of the countries which participated the Moscow olympic games.

In addition to above, this is the USSR promotion (and semi-postal) one for 1980 Moscow Olympic Games.

@ tomonakaazu
Correct: The 1980 Summer Olympics in Moscow were boycotted by the United States to protest against the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan. In payback the Soviet Union and its satellite states later boycotted the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles. One of these satellites was Czechoslovakia. Their stamps were already designed and engraved. The Czechoslovakian Post removed the reference to LA which led to the broken front wheel.
