I always like to find the original drawings used as models to design stamps, especially my favorite engraved stamps. One of the favorites in my primates stamp collection is the stamp of Ring-tailed lemurs, designed and engraved by Pierre Gandon and issued by Madagascar on September 20, 1954. I think I don't have to explain why this one is my favorite:

The design of it based on two different 19th engravings from old nature books:

I was able to find a bit more info on stamps engraved by Harry Peckmore. These are the ones he did for Haiti, to commemorate the 15th anniversary of the UN. These are Scott #469 and C168 & 169.

"View of Pressburg (Bratislava)", engraving by Matthaus Merian Sr. (1593-1650) was the only work that depicted the territory of present day Slovakia, that Merian included in his impressive historical-geographical book titled "Archontologia cosmica", published in Frankfurt in 1638.

This engraving is shown on a huge SS (13x17 cm), engraved by Rudolf Ciganik and issued by Slovakia on October 18, 2021:
