I added today to my "Mythologies of the World" my first Sunken Die proof signed by the engraver Charles-Paul Dufresne. It is a die proof of a stamp designed by Pierre Gandon and issued by Monaco on July 12, 1948 shows sculpture of Aristaeus, the culture hero credited with the discovery of many useful arts, including bee-keeping. The sculpture is by the artist Baron Francois Joseph Bosio (1768 – 1845).

This stamp is one in a set of 9 stamps, all show Bosio's sculptures. It issued in two different values and colors:

Next time I will show the rest stamps in the set which are all designed by Gandon and beautifully engraved by different engravers.

....and the last two stamps shows Nymph Salmacis, engraved by Jules Piel:
In Greek mythology, the Naiads are a type of female spirit, or nymph. One of them is Nymph Salmacis, an atypical naiad who rejected the ways of the virginal Greek goddess Artemis in favour of vanity and idleness.

The Naprstek Museum is a museum of Asian, African and Native American art located in Prague, Czech Republic. It is one of several permanent exhibitions of the National Museum. The museum, originally private, was founded in 1874 by the Czech national revivalist politician Vojtech Naprstek in his former family brewery, as the Czech Industrial Museum. After his death the museum became the Ethnographic Museum, and since World War II it has been focused on non-European cultures. In the 19th century the museum was one of the cultural and educational centers of the Czech intelligentsia. Much of its collection comes from Naprstek and his friends who were Czech expatriates, travelers and ethnographers (Wikipedia)

Here is a set shows North American Indian items exhibited in the museum, designed by Pavel Sukdolak and L. Sindelar, engraved by Josef Hercík, Ladislav Jirka, Jindra Schmidt and Jan Mracek and issued by Czechoslovakia on June 20, 1966 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Naprstek museum:
