Merry Christmas!!!

Adoration of the Magi, by Peter Paul Rubens (1577 - 1640), engraved by A. Van Bets, Rwanda, Christmas 1989. This is the last SS issued in this series of Christmas art, started in 1968.

This SS is the last one from the Rwandan series about Christmas art I have in my collection. Missing three SS's issued for Christmas 1977, 1985 and 1987, all engraved by Jean de Vos. Hope to add them soon to my collection and show them next Christmas.

Engraver : Jindra Schmidt (1897 - 1984)

Printer : Post Office Printing Works, Prague

Every stamp in the set has the letter S engraved somewhere in the design.
Previously on this thread jjarmstrong47 thought that the S stood for the engraver Karl Seizinger.
But Florian had information that actually it was Jindra Schmidt.
