probably not the De La Rue you're talking about but I thought I'd take a shot.

Letter inside, I love the part on how they lost all their records in the Air Raids on London

The same De La Rue, and thanks for posting such an interesting item.

Happy the thread has been relived !

Look at the wording around the crest on the letterhead, the very same playing cards mentioned only just a short while ago.

Great stuff.

Shame the label inside hasn't come out clearly. It is very beautiful and has the royal crest with De La Rue name underneath. The wrapping is not as attractive as the one posted earlier but is still lovely.

I am guessing these are cinderellas but thought as they are De La Rue printed I would post them up. I like the way the grid changes from dark to light, gives the flatish design a lift.

The third, and final, issue of IPSA (Independent Postal System of America) was printed by de la Rue in Brazil. Most of the printing was destroyed when the promoters failed to make payment.

It says he died in 1866, just after the U.S. Civil War. The South sure could have used him on their side, their noted were so widely counterfeit.
