On June 1, 1976 Bahamas issued a two-stamp set recognizing the bicentenary of the USA. The 16c value of the set shows a very "out of scale" map of the 48 contiguous states of the USA and the Bahamas.

The size and distances of the Bahamas Islands is wonderful "puffery". If the map were to true scale, then the Bahamas would be over 2000 miles, from southeast to northwest.

From nationsencyclopedia.com, "longest distance: 950 kilometers (590 miles) southeast to northwest."
