An inventory is only useful for the stamps or sets which are worthy to sold individually or in a name sale (e.g. Bob's Great Collection of Somewhere or Something).

Everything left over is group, country, region or box lots. Those trade at 5-10% of catalog. A hot area my hit 17%. These are all before costs deduction.

Part of the imbalance between what you paid to collect and what you get at disposal is the mere fact you spent ____ years assembling and at best a few months for disposal.

I don't care. I'll be dead. If my family wants to light them on fire, that's fine with me. I won't be here to complain. That goes with all of my belongings.

This thread reminds me of one of my favorite bumper stickers: If you want to make God laugh, tell him your plans.

I have plan in place to have my collection given away to other collectors upon my demise, knowing they will enjoy it as much as I have (I hope!).
