Hello,

I have a stamp graded F-VF that I would like expertized. The current value of the VF stamp as of 2024 is $3000. The current Scott Specialized 2024 no longer has a section for graded values. I have a 2016 value for F-VF for the stamp in question. On the expertizing form should I use the value for 2016 graded F-VF or estimate the value for 2024 based on the VF value for 2024 and the percentage increase in premium over those years?

Would suggest a scan of said stamp. Sure you'll find some opinions of value here once people know what you have.

A curious statement as having a grade implies that it already has been certified.
I suspect rather, you mean that you own a stamp which YOU believe would grade F-VF.
I agree with Andyrich, a scan would move this from a theoretical conversation to an actual one, as many stamps don't really require expertization to confirm their identity, but instead a third-party evaluation of condition.
That said, why not just contact the expertizing organization and ask them? Only they can give you their answer. We cannot.

Why would you want to grade something you think is only F-VF (or grade of 75)? SCV value is for VF (or grade 80). A less-than-80 graded cert will dampen the value of that stamp when you sell it. If you want a expert opinion on the identity and soundness of your stamp (and if it is a $3000 stamp, you definitely do), just get a regular ungraded certificate.

On the form (for any of the agencies), you list SCV for pricing, not what the price of the grade you think it is.

And definitely post a scan and the tell us the identity of the stamp!

John, it does have some sort of certificate. I have to send it in. The only thing I believe about it is that it is some type of stamp. The certificate looks German.

I didn't grade it, I just bought it at auction. So the 2016 value will suffice. I'll use the value that I can find. It's a always a dice roll at auction on uncertified items.

imodius,
Why such extreme reluctance to show us an image of the stamp AND to state up front about the certificate and show it also?
Quite frankly, you have wasted our time playing coy games here.
That's not how thie Forum should work if you want advice or insight.
