Actually it does but as part of a subject that is not about the individual. The 9-11 Heroes semi-postal is a prime example. There are more than a handful of other stamps for which the illustrated person(s) have been identified by name. But your are correct that the US did not issue any stamps showing them when they were alive.
Actually with the USA, the first five have been dead for some time and having one or more US stamps issued honoring them--all dead US presidents have at least one. Inaugural covers are postal history do not include a stamp of the person but do include images as part of the cover's cachet. Wallace "stamps" are cinderellas but I do not know if he has been shown on other country's stamps.
And yes I do want to see items from countries other than the USA as they too fit the topic.
