I am confused as to why the attached cover from Germany to New Jersey has a stamp saying "1st American Flight 1929"

This flight actually took place in October 1928 so I do not understand why the stamp is dated 1929?

Any suggestions?

Thank you.

The first flight of 1929 to America was the first 1929 American Flight.
You are thinking too absolute.

Thanks for the feedback and clarification.

Interesting history as to why the arrival stamp in US was delayed as the flight had to stop for repairs in France before resuming its flight 6 weeks later!
