Hi,

I am a volunteer, and currently president of Stamps for the Wounded (SFTW).

SFTW is a non-profit that sends stamps, philatelic materials and supplies to US veterans, free of charge. We receive donations from the public in order to do so. We do sell some of our donations at local stamp shows to help cover our operating expenses, but almost everything else goes to the veterans.

We are always seeking more veterans to receive stamps from our program, although we would not discourage anyone who wanted to donate to us. I have been scanning through the forums and finding a lot of questions and some confusion about what SFTW is and does, in the present.

So, I wanted to check in with the moderators / community about whether posting about SFTW would be in violation of either the "self-promotion" rules or "solicitation of donations" rules.

Welcome

Use the Search button on the top right side of the screen, near the "you are logged in as".

Type in "Stamps for the Wounded" in the Google search.

After the ads, you will see the many times your organization is recommended on the Forum.

There an SCF members who push SFTW as a donation location pointing out that it has been around since 1942 and entirely run by volunteers.

Now what would be a good story for you to post in a new thread is just how did SFTW get included on the postage stamp I illustrated on you other (first?) post and thread.

Perhaps you can ask that that S/S be used as your avatar. Here I have attached a cropped version which would work better as an avatar:

Since I know what I have posted regarding Stamps For The Wounded and SFTW:

Here are screen shots showing just some returns from a search using the search button.

To find other posts not by me, just search SFTW or the spelled out word without a the posters name.

Edit: ALSO, ferthalangur, you should be getting an email from me via JH when he has time to forward it.

Thank you @dstamp . I have been lurking for a while, and I do periodically search to see what people have been saying to recommend us. It's mostly good, fortunately.
