A philatelist for nearly sixty years, but a new member to the Stamp Community forum. I enjoy discussing stamps, seeing what others have collected and sharing some of my favorite finds. I especially love seeing other's specialized collections.
In the past six decades I've collected a wide range of stuff, including revenue stamps of El Salvador (filling ten albums), revenue stamps related to apiculture and honey, prehistoric life on first-day-covers, insecticides on poster stamps and several detailed topical collections dedicated to things like praying mantises and sawfish... just to name a few.
These days I have finally narrowed myself down to just one specialized collection... the wildlife themed stamps designed and/or engraved by French artist
Pierre Gandon. It was only a few years ago that I discovered that Gandon had created nearly all of my favorite stamps... and I had never made that connection before!
Looking forward to some stimulating philatelic discussions...
