The little spreadsheet drawn out on the inside of a cancelled envelope wasn't dated, but the imprint has me wondering if a date, or date range could be determined.

The bits that can be made out:
imprint: Worcester, MASS (Sec. 562 P. L. & R)

Understood as Section 526, Postal Laws & Regulations.
The embossed profile within the circle, I think is Ben Franklin. The person that created the spreadsheet died 17 May 1956 at the age of 73.

Thank you very much for any hints.

I see 1787 and 1794 in reverse. But those might not be years.

The inside handwritten marks on the envelope is what you're seeing and can be ignored. The image was flipped in order to read the imprint more clearly; WORCESTER, etc.

Look at the front and try to identify which envelope is being used. Not seeing too well from the back, but looks like a cover from the 1915-32 series. Round not oval, don't see a surcharge.

Thank you Stephen - your reply much appreciated. The photo of the front of the envelope wasn't provided by the historical society. Let me see if I can get it, and I'll report back.

Getting a date range is easy with the PL&R reference. The numbering was undated updated (changed) every time a new PL&R was released. Thus when used PL&Rs provide the date range.

Edit: PL&R 562 permit mail existed October 1, 1932 through February 24, 1949.

Not sure when the historical society will scan the outside face of the precanceled envelope, but for now, here's what I've been able to document and believe from this information, that the spreadsheet written on the inside of the precanceled envelope was created sometime between August 1928 1948 and May 1956. See update note.

https://www.precancels.com/a-short-...d-envelopes/

Precanceled envelopes were made by the government from August 1928 until January 1, 1965.

Quote:
1928 – On August 7th, the Post Office Department began supplying precanceled 1˘ stamped envelopes (with or without printed return card) to certain mailers.

UPDATE: Rosmar S Devereux note date: 1948,
