Hello!

I recently collected a large amount of stamps for quite cheap, and I was wondering how most people here find their stamps? Mine have mostly been from charity shops so far but they're few and far between, so I'd like to know a better method.

I suppose it depends on what you are trying to collect. Stamps - mint, used? Specific countries? Hard to find (pricier) vs. common (much cheaper).

Specific eras? (Say - pre-1900; 1900-1918; interwar and WWII? post-WWII?

And what types of stamps - postage? revenue? official? postage due? special services, like airmail, registered, special delivery? (there are others)

Sorry - I hit that button too quickly.

I had a very prominent collector say to me, "if you are building your own collection in a new area, the best and easiest way to start is to buy someone else's collection." - these might be available from dealers or online.

1st, buy partially filled albums, next look for country collections on ebay, then look for specific stamps online or via APS circuit books.
