Postal stationery experts I need your help. The photos show a red Washington 2 cent that ID as belonging to the 1899 group (probably a U358); but my reference (such as it is) skips from 1932 to 1950 on stationery.

I know it's postmarked 1934, so I guess what I'm wondering is or was there more issues between '32 and '50 that this belongs to? Or is this an example of someone using a really old piece of postal stationery to mail something?

Thought?
Thanks,
Dave

I think that is U79 printed 1993 er 1893. If so, someone used an old stamped envelope and added 740 to make up the then current 1st class rate. Philatelic?
Try to identify the Stamped envelope here.

I did mean 1893. Makes an unusual mixed use.
