They are Sc:no.19 1884.They come in 3 types.I don't have type 1,but
the graphics will show the different types.

Thanks for this. My only major-catalogue references for this issue are Scott Classic and Yvert Classiques, and neither of them mention this, much less show the differences.

Based on the way Scott lays out their listings, I assume the strong premium for gray ink over black ink applies to Sc 17 and 18, only? And not Sc 19?

Gibbons (not current version) has this as 23 (rose-pink) and 23a (bright rose), issued 8 May 1884. No more differentiation. Presumably Scott 17 and 18 are Gibbons 18 and 19 of July (dull pale black) and August (intense black, blurred figures) 1881, on the 10 c bluish-green?

This stamp is Sc.no.18 1881 type II numeral 2, grey-black handstamp.
The intense black was from the second printing where a type III numeral
2 exists.

Type II numeral 2

A couple of copies of the 3 Real with small "5" blue surcharge.
As with the other provisionals, the issued quantity is unknown.
The Small Numeral"5" (9 1/2 X 6mm.) Sc.No:9 1878
Although not certain, it appears that all the handstamps were done in Asuncion. All known covers only being used from Asuncion..
