I only have this pair, but I see that Stanley Gibbons notes:

"The overprint settings consisted of mixed type and many varieties exist, including mixed numerals, closed '4', wrong font 'C' in 'Cameroun', broken 'B' for 'R', etc."

Scott 240, SG 164. In my example, the 27.8.40 definitely has a different 2 and 4. Any other examples out there?

Interesting. Different '7' and '0' as well.

Very good! Even the "8" is not the same - thinner on the top one

The 2 is also different. Look at the red colour which is slanted compared to the top stamp. Position of the date is also different.

Somewhere I have a copy of "Cameroun - The 1940 Overprints" by Dudley Cobb that is an exhaustive study of this issue. There is a copy for sale on eBay right now that closes very soon.

Oh my ... there's literally a reference book for every stamp topic imaginable. Now, if I had more than just this pair ...

That is interesting - my 240 has a very heavy, smudged looking "2", Lot of variety in the rest of the set it looks like (from my small sampling).
