Hi All,

I wonder if anyone can give me a good lead to find some Redonda Disney stamp issue dates. Currently I'm missing 4 dates.

Best Rgds,

Are you looking just for years or exact dates? If the former, there are several dealer websites with Redonda inventory listed. Just Google "redonda disney". If you're looking for exact dates, you'll likely need a Michel catalog or join Disneyana/Disnemation:

For members / students whom wish to know more about Redonda.

From 2010

"WHERE IN THE WORLD"

Redonda is a small island in the Caribbean, and a dependency of
Antigua. It is the third and smallest of the Antiguan group, and is
uninhabited. It lies 30 miles from Antigua's nearest point, half way
between Montserrat and Nevis with Montserrat being 13 miles away;
about one mile long north to south, less than half a mile wide; and
rises nearly 1000 feet. It was sighted by Columbus on the same day
that he discovered Antigua, and he named the island "Santa Maria La
Redonda" (St. Mary the Round).

Phosphate was mined on the island from the 1860's to about 1920.
Redonda was annexed by Antigua in 1869 and labourers from
Montserrat were employed on the island. The island has been
unoccupied since 1930. Goats, rats, crabs and sea birds only inhabit
the island.

In 1865 Matthew Sheill decided to claim the island as a fiefdom for
his son, Matthew Phipps Sheill, who was named King Phillipe I by
his father. King Phillipe soon gave his fiefdom to an English poet
who named himself King Juan I. Dukes and duchesses were created
by Juan I who in turn appointed another Englishman as his successor
who now calls himself King Juan II.

Redonda has issued stamps since 1979 in anticipation of commercial
and tourist development. To date, this has not happened and the
island remains uninhabited. The stamps of Redonda are also valid for
use in Antigua. The Scott number 9106 was assigned previously; it is
no longer in use.

Redonda

Redonda is a 0.5 square mile island in the eastern Carribean between
Montserrat and Nevis. It is owned by Antigua which began issuing
stamps for Redonda in 1979. Although Redondan stamps are postally
valid in Antigua and Barbuda, they are of questionable philatelic
validity since Redonda is uninhabited. Major catalogs do not carry
detailed listings of stamps from Redonda. The Scott number 9106
was assigned previously; it is no longer in use. The series honors
Nobel Prize winners.

Rod222, Great pic from Redonda!

Some corrections are in order. Redonda was annexed by 'officially' by the
UK in 1872 and attaching it to Antigua as a dependency. From what I've
read and found the British government established & license the Redonda
Phosphate Co. in 1869 to mine on the island. This is likely where some
authors may have acquired the idea that it was annexed in 1869. Finally
most information states the mining was abandoned before WW1 in 1913 or
14. They all agree that the island has been uninhabited since 1930.

Hi RevenueCollector,

Thanks for your reply. As I'm after the exact date of issue I'll get in touch with Disneyana/Disnemation.

As best I can tell from Michel (2015-2016 ed.):

Mi 81-89: Pluto Christmas - 9 values - Dec 14, 1981
Mi 118-126: 101 Dalmatians - 9 values - 1982 (no month or day given)
Mi 163-167: Donald Duck - 5 values - Nov 1984 (no day given)
Mi 182-185: Quotes(?) from Mark Twain - 4 values - Nov 4, 1985
Mi 187-190: Brothers Grimm: "The Devil & His Grandmother"(?) - 4 values - Nov 4, 1985

I hope this might be a bit helpful.

Does anyone have access to Redonda album pages? Steiner does not have them since the stamps are not listed in Scott. Since the stamps are valid postage in Antigua and Barbuda, I think they are just as collectible as Antigua's.

Opinion:
I don't think that is the point, we can collect whatever we want.
What is lacking is an emmission statement from Antigua on stamps produced,
That being the case, I am sure Mr. Steiner would have made the pages.

Perhaps you would care to write to the Redonda Philatelic Bureau, and see if you can get a list, we can then make pages.
Please let us know your response.

Not my image/cover.

I could not find an email address or a google listing for the Redonda Philatelic Bureau, but I did find a complete listing of Redonda stamps complete with pictures at:
https://www.freestampcatalogue.com/...ntry/redonda
Please let me know if you can make and post the album pages from that source.
Thanks

Nice find Bill.
There are lots of Stamp Album Page creators out there.
I use a really clunky free one one that is fast, but probably will not suit you.
Took me months to conquer it, and make pages fast.

Others may suit you google album page creator
Good Luck.

Palo Albums publishes a set of pre-printed pages for Redonda. These are illustrated pages without any plastic mounts on the pages.

I just thought I would share a couple of pages from one of my albums for Redonda Disney stamps. As you can see, I make my own album pages using Microsoft Publisher. (And I still can't seem to produce a decent image here on this forum - my images lose all of their detail. Darn!)

Nice Pages Msdot, protected in mounts, to boot. Well done.

They look OK to me, it is hard to get any better under the 200Kb limit.

Opinion.
If you are using anything other saving in *.jpg, you may have trouble reducing down from other formats.
