ananthveerappan-- I don't collect for money value but for eye value. When you get eye value like those Nicaraguans, and it doesn't cost you your house, that is value indeed.

...Nice!.

Renden: very nice, I'm jealous. Was this an auction buy?

Thanks !!

Bought from a Canadian dealer and contacted him before as well as checked the cert with VGG...he didn't know about the rare numerical cancel as the cert does not specify it and I do not think they ever do in types of numeral cancels.

While not classic in terms of age, I'm pretty impressed with these new US Forever stamps.

This NFLD C12 arrived in today's mail. Tough to find used and I'm happy I got it at the price I did.

This leaves me looking for C18 of the airmails I'll be able to afford. C1, C4 and C5 are way out of my budget.

tlmcca-

Of course a stamp can't be cancelled or precanceled until after it is printed.

So since the stamp was cancelled in 1932 and Hitler did not come to power until 1933, why does the stamp have swastikas in the corners?

Is there some interesting history here? Co-incidence?

Beautiful find btw.

The swastika is a symbol that has been used for many centuries in various different cultures. Its use on this stamp been discussed here before: http://goscf.com/t/40290

The original stamp (without the overprint) was issued on 2 January 1931. If it had been issued two or three years later, I think they would have had second thoughts about incorporating a swastika into the design!

Hello Terry

The C4's are cheap. Got one myself for 6 bucks on eBay recently !.

C1, 5 and 6 could be pricey, unless I am missing something

Btw- here is my C4
