No, no, not at all. It is what it is and you should mark it as such of course.

To a specialist like yourself (and me also in my own ways) we like the exactness and preciseness of stating what a thing actually is.

But, if all our catalogues happened to, at the time, round figures off to the nearest 1/2 of a perf (see front of catalogue for perforation explanations) then that's what Most people would be happy with.

Just the same as a general type catalogue like Scott does not list all the varieties for all the stamps worldwide and most worldwide collectors are happy with that.

Unitrade is a specialized catalogue and it really should state perfs by the 0.1 or 0.005 of a perf like on my perf gauge, but it does not for the older stamps. Have to get a new catalogue some day soon and update myself.

You are absolutely right Puzzler...
Just because a prestigious catalogue like Unitrade says it is so, doesn't make it correct in my eyes (and probably yours).

I really think (and maybe they do) they should be lurking on these type of forums to find out what is really happening out there and maybe, just maybe contact a person who has some thing new to add to the stamp world and change what has to be changed.

Do I think they do...maybe.
Do I really think they care......you be the judge.

I think you should contact them. They are in business to please the collectors and the more detailed info they have and confirm also I would imagine, the better off for them.

The Editor of the Unitrade does "lurk" here, and is definitely interested in improving the entire catalogue.

Sometimes his hands are "tied" due to outside factors.

Unfortunately, there appears to be some measurements regarding the Kiusalas Canadian gauge especially for the Large and Small Queens such as perforation 12.0 and 12.25 that are not covered by that gauge. It has been known for some time that perforation 12 which is between 12-66 and 12-65 was missing. Some have proposed 12-65.5 for it since for the U.S. Kiusalas gauge some have found 11-72.5 a better fit than 11-73 which they don't believe exists. A good reference on the subject topic is "Stamp Perforations with Particular Emphasis on Canadian Stamps" which may help. Others believe that it is more accurate to measure perforations in ten-thousandths of an inch rather than one-thousandths of an inch.

Is it Scott/Amos (U.S.A.) that has the final say into what goes in and does not go into the Canadian Unitrade Canada stamp catalogue?

41a is incorrectly marked as 12 x 12, it must be corrected to 12 x 12 1/4. As mentioned before, it is not even an Ottawa print.

In my 2018 Unitrade, 41 a is 12 X 12 1/4 (Montreal) ?
