Speculation and Guesses.

Mutilated Stationery Fragment. 2 x 3d King George 5 Sideface =6d

Fragment contains text "OARANGI"
Guess: RMS AORANGI (ll) (date 1925 suits )

Pronounced (Moari = AORAKI [Cloud Piercer])

Postmark "Auckland Loose Letters"
Guess: The cover would have been posted at the Sydney Wharf to catch the ship
to New Zealand, then on to VANCOUVER Canada?

Is this in context for "Loose Letters" Postmarking?

Would 6d cover postage and LATE FEE for posting on ship bound for CANADA?

Thanks for any suggestions.

Hi Rod

That's quite an airmail envelope, Charles Ulm was also Sir Charles Kingsford Smith's co-pilot in the "Southern Cross". Ulm was lost at sea (Pacific Ocean) on December 3, 1934.

Thank you Rob.
Yes, Charles Ulm was the financial motivator behind the pair, he started ANA, Australian National Airways.
Very Brave fellows.

I opened the cover after 83 years to find the enclosure souvenir ID.
Not seen that ephemera piece prior.

Thanks for assistance from SCF member "22 crows". (Link to Moss Green Auction image)
Thanks also to my North American Dealer..he rarely fails.

I was accepting I was out of pocket, but it turned into a bargain.

I am accepting these as "genuine"
Example below (Plate 3) from the Arthur Gray collection

Note: top of the "S" is somewhat flattened (It is suggested this occurs in 75% of opts)
(from another board)

Same Sex Mariage Ballot..........How Australia Post could manipulate the result.

Yes. One can read what choice you make through the envelope
If you put an enclosure in the envelope to hide it, the vote gets binned anyhow.

Never mind, it was only $122 million dollars
