Has anything untoward happened to the site speed the last day or so ? Or has anyone else had the same problem I have had. It is taking an age to load most pages and for messages to go up. I have given up on occasion and gone to another message. Maybe it's my computer but it's only with SCF that I have problems. Any ideas/help/thoughts/ Thanking all you good souls in advance. Londonbus1.......I don't have many hairs left !

Londonbus1 - you are not the only one. I keep getting errors saying either there's too many connections, or that the script has timed out.

You're not the only one Michael. I was just about to post also.
I've been having some trouble logging in. On on occasion I got an error message indicating there were too many participants.
I'm also getting error messages when I try to access the "Last 100" links and if I'm moving around within those pages, it's taking 2 minutes or more to load - and I'm wired off a T-1 line so I have tons of bandwidth.
It doesn't seem to be nearly as bad if I'm moving around in the "All Forums" page. |

I just tried to post a message and got this: Active Server Pages error 'ASP 0113' Script timed out /post_info.asp The maximum amount of time for a script to execute was exceeded. You can change this limit by specifying a new value for the property Server.ScriptTimeout or by changing the value in the IIS administration tools. But as I'm a computer dummy, I am not sure what I am being asked to do ! |

Londonbus, That's an error intended for the site administrator's eyes, there's nothing that you can do to change the mentioned values. 'Tis a server problem, or more likely a bandwidth problem with the host.

Yeah, there's some intermittent slow downs. We're working on nailing it down. |

I think it was that asteroid that went by the planet last evening. I had my tinfoil hat on all night just to keep the dangerous and harmful rays from penetrating my brain. Can't be too careful with those penetrating rays. |

Problems on Vulcan, too? Or is there some kind of wormhole link that connects Vulcan to Earth problems?

I too have had problems getting contact in to this forum lately.
On some occasions, I have had to 'refresh' the page about three times to get either the "Last 100 Active" or "Last 100 New" to appear. In posting this message, it was three times before I could make a connection.
At first, I thought it was my computer - glad I was wrong :(

I have not been able to load top link for a week. I have to use the left hand pane "last 100 topics" |

I'm probably not seeing enough of the site, as I use the "Last 100" almost exclusively. |

Last 100 pages should be working fine now. Quote: I have not been able to load top link for a week. Then I should have heard about it a week ago. |

An easy work-around for me (using Firefox) was when loading was slow, I hit the stop loading X then the Refresh button. |
