Ok, it may not be my favourite, but it is up there. This is a rare inter island ship cover, posted aboard the ship M.V. Nivanga on it's way from Nukulaelae Atoll, to the Tuvalu capital of Funafuti in 1982. Commercial covers from Tuvalu are rare. |

I can be very, very fickle. My favourite cover can often be my latest cover. Like this one, just arrived. British Guiana to the US, SG267 on a lovely illustrated advertising cover. A rare stamp on cover, even if the cover has a bad tear. |

After thinking for many days. Then looking for several more here is one of mine. 1858 Stampless from Bavaria to "Newyork, Nordamerica". This if from an archive of covers that range from 1855 to 1874. They were discoverd under the floorboards in my cousins house(circa 1840) in the 1930's. |

Great covers everyone! I always wanted to find a cache of old covers in the wall or floorboards. Maybe I should hide some in my house for future generations. |

Beautiful cover Jubilee..an advertising cover combined with a great stamp...Guatemala gurus have told me that you have to accept flaws in better older covers...it goes with the territory !! |

Not everyone loves covers..when our club box lot breaker downer makes up lots for our auction...there are some 5 and 10 dollar covers that no one bids on...when they red tag them for a dollar I will take them ..no problem !! |

Quote: Not everyone loves covers I used to think of them as stamps on paper...a stack of them was kiloware. [shudder] I hate to think of the violence I committed against covers in years past. [/shudder] Collin |

My three favorite covers- The first, because it is so clean and trim, (Anyone know why the double Cameroon cancel?) The second, because all the stamps are on the wrong side and they're those gorgeous Chinese art stamps, and the third, well, because it is all battered and beaten and was sent to me by a very good friend. (The envelope covering the address has that cancel on the wrong side and wrong corner. It's a Nassau Hall first day cover mailed from New Jersey to Tacoma, WA, and had two changes of address added between its mailing and destination; not only was the address incorrect the first two times, but the recipient's name had been misspelled as well.) |

RE: revstampman 3/13/2010 archive of covers 1840-1870 found under floorboards of house. Very nice. Has his family been occupying the house continuously since 1870? If not had one cousin bought it from another? Are the names on the covers anyone in the family? How about a pic of the house? BlankPage. |
