Anyone have a copy of FE Heydon's Postage Stamps of Panama? The reprint I received has a few pages that were poorly photocopied, resulting in the loss of part of one side of text and tables. I would request a scan or Xerox of pages 24, 32, and 38.
BeeSee the spy will now confess ! I read the letters to the editor and the list of new applicants..thats how I find local people to join our stamp club....I READ NOTHING IN BETWEEN !!
Yes, Philb, I did just join up. Well spotted. (your sighting of me, not me myself, well, not for a while at least, um ... er)
Where was I?
Yes I joined APS in a large part in order to take advantage of the reference library. Unfortunately, whoever photocopied this book, fell asleep or was hypnotized by the green lamp and skewed a few pages off the screen. I was hoping to get the pages for nuts rather than going thru the APS Library, which might cost beans.
If I can't get satisfaction from you lot or the Canal Zone group, I'll break down and order the copies from APS. Hopefully, they have an original somewhere.
BTW this is a great book. It covers Panama up to about 1921, perfect for my CZ stuff. There are detailed charts of overprint variations, including tables of substituted letters, etc. Excellent resource, and well worth a look for anyone interested in this area. It was recommended to me by a fellow Zoner, and I am glad he did!
Further BTW I don't have a twin, and this is not a common surname in America. However, I understand Australia and England are well stocked with Cottrells.
Dave, Welcome..theres a list of applications for membership in the back of the magazine....i was going to suggest you might borrow the book you are looking for from the research library or I am pretty certain they can make xerox (old fashioned word) of pages you need...we have been out to the old Hq. in State College twice and to the Match factory once...you can not find nicer, mor helpful people..anything we asked about they went the extra mile for us !!
