The Prexies, is a nick-name for the Presidential issue, Scott Catalog 803 - 834, issued 1938 to 1939

Amazing that someone took the time to put that many prexie stamps on one cover! ha

This 30c Theodore Roosevelt cover was carried by diplomatic pouch in 1944.

I was curious about that also. I found this ad on ebay "MNH Prixie Short Set Scotts 803 – 830 US Stamps" and was wondering what "Prixie" meant. Then in this forum I found it spelled "Prexie". Using that spelling I found "(philately) (colloquial) A definitive stamp of the presidential series issued by the United States from 1938 to 1954." This is a great forum, glad I found it.

G'Day all and thanks for showing us those great covers,I have two covers to show the forum the first one a register letter with one Sc#815 prexie on it.It has a nice combination of stamps on it,the second from a stamp company franked with three cents (a block of 4 Sc#802 and tied by a Sc#803)worth of stamps.

Very nice Tom(NR)but tell me why did it cost so much to send consular mail when registered mail was half that of consular mail

Good question.......I have no idea.....register airmail was less than consular mail ??

Does anyone have any info that might explain this ?
