I have never seen an album for Canadian precancels. Does anyone know of one?

I was contemplating making one otherwise. Has anyone else done this?

I know that there is a considerable amount of resources I can use from online to do this, but if someone else has already done so....

Wpg:

I have never seen one for Canada. I made my own for the pre-cancels of the KGVI-reign for Canada. That is probably your best bet.

Hi All

I have seen seen an album for Canadian precancels myself. However, as it has been stated in here earlier, your best bet is to make your own.

I have done this for the majority of all my albums in my collection and the same is true for my Canadian precancels. The latest catalogue of these stamps now includes a section of Canadian precancelled "Perfins". This says to me that I have to update my album. By the way, I am also a WW "Perfin" collector too <G>

The system I have used for my albums, since the computer age anyway, has always been "WORD". To date, I have not had any problems with this method.

Hope this helps.

Hi all, what are the numbers that are used on eBay for Canada precancels I see at times? Something like 1-111 (111 being the scott number presumably), but what does the 1 (or 2 or 3 etc) stand for? The type or maybe the city used in?

I presume the (1-111-I) I (eye) after the numbers is Inverted?

Thanks.

Puzzler: I-111, etc. is the catalogue number from the 6th Edition of the Canadian Standard Precancel Catalogue.

Glenn: We have a Canada Precancel album in stock at Ian Kimmerly Stamps... I'll send you details in the next day or so.

Rod:

Those precancels are great! The perfin looks like an infinity symbol to me.

Hi Rod

Yes, it is a nice perfin. I have that one as well but not on a revenue stamp.

Thanks for the illustration

Happy collecting

David, what's the asking price for one of those albums at Ian Kimmerly? I've been searching for something like that for quite some time, and finally found somebody offering a used one on a different site the other day. I paid what I consider a reasonable price, and I expect it to be here any day now, or rather the notification that I'll have to wait until Saturday to physically go down to the post office to pick it up... :)

Kirk, I think that is the symbol of STO, the Caprica terrorists!

That is a great start and your best bet, WPg. I do my pages in AutoCAD.

Sorry for the delay, folks! Will post the price on Saturday... I'm on the floor at the stamp shop then, and I'll check the price. It's not much.

David
