I guess since no one mentioned it that it's working ok. The ads should no longer hide click to enlarge images. Those of you with higher resolution monitors should see much less auto-resized images. Now instead of using a fixed max width to trigger resizing, it's based on a percentage of your window size. The bigger your window, the less resized images you will see.

Bravo! that is a very welcome upgrade, I am sorry I didn't notice it.
What I did notice is the ads seem to sometimes automatically trigger a connection with the post topic. Food stamps, we had hamburger ads :)

Oh, so THAT'S what's going on!! Yesterday I was having so much trouble responding to a thread because I couldn't see the box to type a reply. Now that the images in posts do not shrink down, the website does not fit nicely on my monitor. Not sure if I am the only one who is having trouble with this new update. If someone posts a very wide image, I have to scroll a LOT to the left/right. I for one liked it a LOT better the old way... |

It grieves me to add my voice to the change, Indeed I have to scroll left and right to read the text, I now prefer the old way, but no doubt a lot of work went into the new system..sorry ...unless there is a way of adjusting my sreen res to accomodate That's one of the things I disliked when I was on "the other forum" |

Thanks for resolving that issue with the ads -- I found it extremely annoying! |

Could this be a function of page "speed" ?
Sometimes when my Internet is slow, I have to wait for the images to load and the surrounding pages "finishes" rendering before the image is fully loaded and resized.
I don't know - just thinking out loud.

Quote:Perhaps not, I have to scroll left and right on this page. https://www.stampcommunity.org/topi...&whichpage=2 [rant] Sorry, I'm not going to cater to images over 2400 pixel wide and over 2 MB. That's just absurd. This is a stamp forum, we're not counting linen threads. The new system will deal fine even with unreasonable images, but absurd may be beyond it's realm on some computers. [/rant] Now, on a good note, that image resizes just fine for me even on a 1024px width window. But that's likely because I'm running an I7 930 with 24GB of ram and run all my browsers straight from a 6GB drive completely in ram, and all other programs run from a 90 GB SSD. The javascript that does the resize has to wait for the entire 2.3 MB to load before it resizes and some boxes/browsers just can't handle it, and shouldn't have to. |

Was 2 MB really needed, this one is 200 KB. (Over 10 times smaller) Members need to understand that other members need to download this stuff. Overkill doesn't help anyone. |
