Summer officially begins on Saturday. With warmer weather and so much
more to do, will you be spending any time working with your collection
during the coming months?

Any plans for your collecting?
Any rearrangement of your collection?
Any stamp shows you will be attending?
Any way you will be combining stamps with something else?
Will you be soaking a kilo of stamps while in the pool?
Cataloging stamps by the campfire?
Looking for stamps at garage sales?
Raising money for your stamps with a yard sale?
Visiting with collectors in other parts of the country?
Just putting everything away until fall?

I'm always looking for ways to raise money for more stamps--BUT right now I'm running my Mary Englebreit Doll eBay Auction again for my friend, Carol, who has colon cancer--the folks who bought the doll and items previously, have donated it to be sold to raise more money. Just a few more hours on it to go!
There will always be time for my stamps this summer--I don't tolerate the heat well, so inside is better--plus the mosquitoes are bad around here with all the flooding that has occurred.
I definitely have opened my eyes to looking for stamps at yard sales after I have read about the great finds you all have made !
And thanks to you all, I have plans to separate some of my stamps into separate albums--like Red Cross and Christmas are now big enuff they deserve a start in their own albums! Plus, always on the lookout for those Precancels!

Thanks!

Any plans for your collecting? Yes! I'm gonna keep spending too much time with my stamps.

Any rearrangement of your collection? Nope! Just a lot of additions.

Any stamp shows you will be attending? Yes, the Red River Stamp and Coin Show in Shreveport, LA the last weekend of July.

Any way you will be combining stamps with something else? If we go on vacation, I'll visit any stamp stores in the area.

Will you be soaking a kilo of stamps while in the pool? I don't have a pool, but it's a good reason to build one!

Cataloging stamps by the campfire? No, I'd drop them into the fire.

Looking for stamps at garage sales? I don't do garage sales.

Raising money for your stamps with a yard sale? I already sold everything I'm not wearing to buy the last batch of eBay covers from Modern.

Visiting with collectors in other parts of the country? No, t360 won't pay for my plane ticket.

Just putting everything away until fall? Don't even think about it!

Any plans for your collecting? As any die hard collector would say Heck yeah there are plans for collecting.
Any rearrangement of your collection?there is always rearrangment to be done.
Any stamp shows you will be attending?Unfortunately NO, unless there is one that springs up close by.
Any way you will be combining stamps with something else? All of my little trips to surrounding towns and cities will include looking for new stamps.
Will you be soaking a kilo of stamps while in the pool?Like Greg I don't have a pool and I don't think the public pool would like it too much if I took a kilo in with me.
Cataloging stamps by the campfire?WHAT!!??? Are you crazy? And have a wind blow them into the fire?
Looking for stamps at garage sales?YEAH now we are talking? Garage Sales are the bomb.
Raising money for your stamps with a yard sale?Nope everything is already lost to pawn.
Visiting with collectors in other parts of the country? If gas prices where lower is avery big possibility, but with gas at what it is now it's either go visit and let your collection suffer or build your collection and visit online.
Just putting everything away until fall?if you put everything up until then you are a foul weather collector.

Well Because I work at a garden center and am there 80 plus hours a week until the end of June and then about 60 hrs per week until late fall I have less time to spend on collecting.

I still try to set a little time each week to spend with stamps.

I work weekends so garage sales are out. I think there is only one stamp show around here and I missed it.

I'm an avid gardener and have keep some time to maintain my too many gardens.

One thing is certain I will never put my collection Away again. It has it's own room now and I try to keep it company as much as I can.

Dianne

You are soooooooo right Phil, the chat board , has become an
advertising agency for the sellers ,
no stamp talk what so ever.

Phil, I have gone to stampwants.com several times, but I am confused on how you pay if you buy numerous items from different sellers. Can you just make one total payment and stampwants doles it out or do you have to pay each seller individually??
It looked as if I would have to pay each seller individually, unless I misunderstood.

Thanks!

Gussy I am afraid you have to pay each seller individually..thats why its best to zero in on one seller at a time buy several things from him if possible and combine postage..cheers ! phil

Bob G G G G I think another reason for lack of chat on Stampoffers is that awful "ask seller a question" method of posting ...i wish James had never left the old "yellow chat board" method..things are changing fast and if stampoffers does not change its going to be left behind..theres many chatboards and auctions for collectors out there nowadays

Gussy, Phil is right. But I haven't found that to be a problem. I've picked out three or four sellers that carry a lot of German and Central America and they have more than I can afford anyway.
