Has anyone seen the above story in today's news about their "Village" Post Office concept?

To highlight what is stated in the article:

Quote:
...U.S. Postal Service has determined that its plan to replace money-losing offices with retailers contracted to offer basic services will not work in many rural communities.

The agency set an eventual goal of 2,000 "Village Post Offices," but it has fewer than 10 fully operating.

The New York Times had a piece a couple of days ago about Deutsche Post and the rationalization of post offices in Germany.

Deutsche Post has sold off all but 24 of 29,000 post office buildings in the last 15 years.

There is a rather kooky photo of a guy with his cat in a store, apparently investigating how to best post it... ?
